Bryan Adams and Mel C

THEN & NOW: ‘When You’re Gone’ – Bryan Adams and Melanie C

Back in 1998, Canadian rocker Bryan Adams linked up with ‘Sporty’ Spice Girl Mel C for the duet “When You’re Gone”, which featured on his album “On A Day Like Today”. The track was released as second single and proved a huge top ten hit all around the world, selling nearly a million copies in the UK alone!

Now, 24 years on, the pair have rekindled their friendship and re-recorded the tune and also filmed a new video for it in stripped back fashion as they march through the corridors of an arena prior to performing “When You’re Gone” live, as Adams tours the UK to promote his latest album, “So Happy It Hurts”.

“So Happy It Hurts” is largely co-written and produced with Bryan’s long standing partner, Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange and has already yielded five singles since October 2021. Mel has recently worked with US rock band Train on their 2022 single, “AM Gold” and is set to publish her autobiography towards the end of this year.
