FRESH: ‘Tattoo’ – Loreen

Loreen stamps her “Tattoo” on Eurovision for 2023

Electro-Pop

Swedish singer Lorine Zineb Nora Talhaoui’s – aka Loreen – bid to represent her country at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, “Tattoo”, has made it to the final of Melodifestivalen, to be held on March 11th.

The powerful, epic “Tattoo” is co-written by hitmaker Moa “Cazzi Opeia” Carlebecker, together with Thomas G:son, Peter Boström, Jimmy Jansson, Jimmy “Joker” Thörnfeldt with input from Loreen herself.

So all bets are on if Loreen does triumph, that she will be a surefire favourite to win the 67th Contest to be held in the United Kingdom in May. The song has already topped the Swedish Spotify chart as well as the official sales chart (Sverigetopplistan) and interest in “Tattoo” has spread across Europe and to the UK itself, where it has made the top 40 on the download chart.

Of course, Loreen won the Contest in 2012 with “Euphoria” having previously entered in 2011 with “My Heart Is Refusing Me” only to be beaten by Eric Saade with “Popular”, who came third that year. Sweden were last victorious in 2015 when Måns Zelmerlöw won with “Heroes”, so could this be a seventh for the country to tie with Ireland for the most wins in the Contest…?

Since 2012, Loreen released her debut album “Heal” and followed this with “Ride” in 2017. With “Tattoo” going to number one, it has given the 39 year old her second chart topper, so could this also be an omen that “Tattoo” will give Sweden a big win this year? Certainly the song deserves to represent its country and do well at the Contest. It it pure, power, Pop at its very best with dominant vocals from the lady herself against a ‘euphoric’ soundtrack that makes your hairs stand up and makes you take notice!

Good luck Loreen!
