Rick Astley returns with new music…we are there!
Country-Pop-Rock
Rick Astley is dipping his feet in something new and he’s gone all Rodeo for his brand new single, “Dippin’ My Feet”, the first taster of his upcoming new album!
The track has a mid-American flavour to it with hints of Country and soft Rock, which is also a good indication of the album itself, which is due out in October – “Are We There Yet?“.
“Are We There Yet?” is Rick’s third studio release for BMG Rights Management and follows his 2018 top ten hit “Beautiful Life“. Rick released an updated best of in 2019 and he’s also dabbled with 80’s retro Pop with his 2021 single “Unwanted“. He spent most of last year touring and recording with New Kids On The Block, so it’s hardly surprising that this track has a Stateside sound to it.
Rick has written, recorded, played and produced the new album himself at his home studio in London and in support of it, Rick takes to the road at the end of 2023 and into 2024 on his first solo tour since 2018. He will be joined by special guest and fellow 80’s icon, Belinda Carlisle, so expect alot of old time hits from both to flood out. Rick also has a spot at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, where the crowds will no doubt rejoice at singing “Never Gonna Give You Up“!
In a year in which he celebrates the 35th anniversary of his second album, “Hold Me In Your Arms” (1988), Rick will also launch his ninth freshly squeezed collection of songs to the delight of his well established fanbase as well as a few newcomers along the way that have embraced the young man from Newton Le Willows since his surprise return to music in 2016 after a gap of nearly twenty years. “Are We There Yet?” is scheduled for release on 13th October.
