Without “Tryin'”, Liam Barrack serves a great new tune!
Pop
Canadian singer and songwriter Liam Barrack has just released his third ever single, “Tryin'”, which has a great deep groove to it and something autobiographical in its lyrics.
“Tryin'” follows his debut single “Bulletproof”, releases earlier this year and “Sick Kisses” – Liam writes from the heart and from his own observations!
“Tryin'” is about managing a relationship with someone while hardly being able to manage yourself. The song is about wanting to keep something you’re losing, and making promises of change – ultimately that you’re “Tryin'”.
Liam says: “I have a lot of problems with executive function: simple things like trying to fall asleep, making it to meetings on time or even remembering small things ends up being a struggle for me, and it puts a serious strain on the relationships I have with people.”
“Tryin'” is about the penultimate feeling before something fails. Liam sees it that there are two paths you can take from here – one of them is to try, and the other is to concede. “Tryin'” represents the optimistic and more involved approach. To reform yourself into what someone else needs of you and have healthier relationships.
Liam adds: “Sometimes I’ll just be thinking of the thing I want to talk about and a whole song will spill out very quickly. Other times the parts are crafted separately or in a particular order. Ultimately, the drive is in what’s unknown. It’s really a method of knowing myself better on all fronts. Often times I won’t realise what a song is about until I’ve finished writing it and can stand back and look at it. It’s the ability to see your subconscious thoughts and feelings culminate into a piece of art in real-time that drives me.”
Well, without ‘tryin’, Liam has crafted another fine song worthy of a wide audience to his self-produced and released music as this young Canadian breaks out into the great unknown and who knows what…
