Thereza Bazar, one half of 80’s hit making duo Dollar, is back in the limelight once more after taking time out to focus on her family life and it’s with a new mix of a 1981 top twenty hit for the duo that featured on their appropriately titled album, “The Dollar Album”!
“Hand Held In Black And White” has been remixed by modern Pop producer, Matt Pop, who blends those oh so familiar 80’s sounds but with a cheeky 21st century twist. Matt was recently involved with the sprightly new tune from O!Dorian, “Dancing Brokenhearted“, and has produced and remixed the likes of Nicki French, Hazell Dean and Sonia to name but a few.
Now working under the name of ‘Thereza Bazar’s Dollar’, Thereza, along with new musical partner Stephen Fox, and Matt bring a new liveliness to “Hand Held In Black And White”, which reached No.19 in the Spring of 1981 and was followed by, arguably, their best known song, “Mirror Mirror”, which featured on the same album and went top five in the UK.
It’s been some 35 years since the original Dollar last recorded together when their version of Erasure’s “Oh L’amour” went to No.7 in early 1988. It was the duo’s fifth and final top ten hit after a decade together and if you want to know what David is upto now, check out our Where Are They Now? feature on Dollar here.
