Our good friend, the award-winning British singer-songwriter Bisola releases her new EP today which she describes as “that’s totally next level!” The EP titled “Light over Darkness” is tailor made to capture hearts and minds. From the album cover to the impressive selection of tracks, Bisola has not held back.

The body of work on display here propels the “Go Massive” singer-songwriter into a bold and exciting phase of her career. Each song on “Light over Darkness” could be an outright hit on their own with compelling storylines, awesome production values and 100% addictive hooks. Bisola has truly elevated herself and has broken new ground with this release.

“Shine On” kicks off the EP and is about overcoming life’s challenges and not letting it steal what’s special and authentic about you. Its synth heavy intro is immediately attention grabbing and has such an energetic feel it’s destined to be a dance floor filler.

“Shine On” is the opening track (and also a personal favourite). It hooks you with its audacious energy from the start and further draws you in as Bisola’s vocals kick in. This is a mesmerising offering which transports you into Bisola’s world as she takes you on a journey celebrating the power of shining your light, reaching for higher heights, and rising above the craziness life throws at you. The sassily produced track packs a punch, is fun to listen to and could prove to be a real game changer for Bisola as it can confidently sit alongside any track in today’s top 40 music charts.

Bisola tells us “I was putting the final touches to this track on the way to a recording session where I had been scheduled to record a completely different track but changed my mind at the very last minute and recorded ‘Shine On’ instead due to the buzz and great vibes I was getting from the song. I feel ‘Shine On’ is a winner. Not only does it move you to get up and dance, but it leaves you feeling uplifted and with an inexplicably strong desire to let go and let the light in you shine brighter than ever.“

“Like Duracell” is a total vibe. The message that comes across loud and clear is – say or think what you like, you can’t keep this girl down! She’s gonna keep going and going and going. This track inspires everyone not to give up and to believe we can all accomplish great things. Her most recent single “Liar” is a no holds barred track about shaking off toxic relationships, negative self-talk and recognising the lies that can hold us back from being best we were created to be. Its contemporary Afropop arrangement and anthemic chorus made it a huge hit with her fans this Summer.

Bisola continues to deliver with the fiery, pulsating sound of “Supernatural”, which is underpinned by contemporary earthy melodies. It speaks to that deep place of the human soul while at the same time leaving you feeling more alive than ever. Her ballad, and another previous release, “Heaven Feels Like“, closes out the EP with a stripped back acoustic performance that’s truly stirring. Bisola initially released this song in 2021 and it turned out to be one of her most streamed tracks to date so it’s fitting that it made it on the EP as it deserves to be heard by a wider audience!

Bisola adds “I wanted to put out something that would spark a light in people and make them feel uplifted and empowered in a world which can sometimes feel overwhelming and negative.“
