ADVERTS: Night Swimming, Beach Walking: ‘Black Coffee’ – All Saints

Book your Summer holiday with All Saints!

With Christmas over and done with, it’s time to think about Summer 2024 holidays and what better way to get into the mood than a Summery song to accompany the new Center Parcs advert from All Saints! The company have used the girls’ 2000 smash hit “Black Coffee” for their latest campaign, with the hopeful message that you wouldn’t wanna be anywhere else but…here.

The track was the second single to come from their second studio album, “Saints & Sinners”, and became a massive hit when released in October 2000, becoming All Saints fifth and, to date, their last number one. The track was originally written in 1997 by Tom Nichols, Alexander von Soos and Kirsty Bertarelli as “I Wouldn’t Wanna Be”. Unable to find anyone to record the song, it was eventually picked up by producer William Orbit who was working with All Saints on their next project.

Orbit and Mel Blatt reworked the song changing the title to “Black Coffee” and the rest is history. All Saints have performed the song live only a few times since then as and when they regroup to record new material together (something that hasn’t happened since 2018’s “Testament“), but it was a welcome addition to their set in Hyde Park for Radio 2’s Festival in 2018, where they appeared alongside Kylie, who was headlining the event.
