Where Are They Now? – The Top Ten!
In our phenomenally popular series “Where Are They Now?”, we here at talkaboutpopmusic.com take a trip down memory lane and seek to find the stars and the one hit wonders of the past and ‘attempt’ to find out what they are all up to these days. But who do you miss the most? Who are the singers and bands that we’ve featured so far that fans are searching out the most?
This is our top ten chart of the year of the most viewed and most popular features of 2023, found through internet search engines and our own website. How many do you remember and how many do you wish would return to the recording studio? Equally, how many are you glad that they have never burdened us all again?! So here they are, in reverse order (just to build up shock and surprise!).

10. Starship (9)
With 60 years in the business in one form or another, the group known as Starship continue to remain popular thanks to the continued use of “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” in TV adverts, and they are down just one on this years top ten on our most popular features.
9. Mr. Mister (5)
American band Mr. Mister made their debut last year on our top ten and fall four places, remaining one of the most requested features on what they are upto now some 38 years since their ode to “Kyrie” and being shorn of their ‘broken wings’.
8. Deee-Lite (4)
It’s 33 years since Deee-Lite deeelighted us with their oh-so-near number one hit “Groove Is In The Heart”. 33 years on and we still want to know all about it and what the three of them are upto these days. They stay top ten for a second year, but also down four places.
7. The Thompson Twins (NE)
The Thompson Twins have finally made it to the list! Tom, Amanda and Joe clocked up huge hits in the mid-80’s with “Hold Me Now” and “Doctor Doctor”, but we went detective to see what happened afterwards and what they are doing with themselves now. Want to know more…?
6. The Corrs (1)
The Corrs did release new music in 2023 with their tribute to Fleetwood Mac singer Christine McVie with a gorgeous cover of “Little Lies”. The group also re-issued their 2003 greatest hits album in expanded form. So, they stay top ten but leave the top spot and drop five places.
5. Shampoo (3)
Jacquie and Carrie never seem to leave this list. Year after year they remain one the ten biggest and most searched features we have ever written. The ‘girls’ are down two this year, but where will they be in 2024 when “Trouble” hits its 30th birthday…?
4. Dollar (NE)
80’s duo Dollar make their debut on our top ten this year. David and Thereza once looked in the mirror and covered Erasure’s “Oh L’Amour” before separating, but what did they do afterwards and where are they both now? There’s only one way to find out…
3. Fab Morvan (NE)
There’s another new entry next for one half of the ‘notorious’ duo Milli Vanilli, Fab Morvan. What did he do once they were found out for being frauds and where is he now? It’s been 35 years since they told their girl it was true, but how true has Fab been to his fans?
2. The Jets (2)
Interest in the family Wolfgramm remains strong as those who remember 80’s music remember The Jets. Who did you have a ‘crush’ on? They are non-movers this year with so many hits, they can’t seem to make it to number one, but they are refusing to leave their post.
1. Mandy Smith (NE)
The highest new entry this year is straight into the top for model and one time singer Mandy Smith. Stock Aitken Waterman launched her in 1987 to a grateful audience in mainland Europe, but not it seems in the UK. What did she do when the hits dried up? All is revealed…d
