UK singer Adam French shares his emotional new single “Wanna Be Here”.
UK singer Adam French has released his emotional new single and video “Wanna Be Here” from his upcoming full-length album due out next year. “Wanna Be Here” is a softly incendiary new offering that blends powerful, emotive lyrics with the kind of natural musicianship that cements the young artist’s smoldering entrance into the scene.
The video follows three lovers through their complicated story, highlighting that happiness isn’t a just a mathematical equation. Director Savvas Stavrou selected some of the brightest emerging dancers in the UK to play the actors’ roles – Tylor Deyn (i-D, Dazed) and Riley Wolf (Hofesh Schecter Company), who created a gorgeous visual blending real-world emotion and grit with a strikingly beautiful aesthetic.
“Wanna Be Here” is a song about the difference between happiness and comfort. As people we often mistake a comfortable habitat for love and settle for the now. It’s important to share life with somebody that makes you happy and brings out the best in you…and it’s never too late to cut loose from those who don’t.
Adam French is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist from England who creates songs of depth and honesty. Earlier this year Adam released his sophomore EP, “You From The Rest”, which featured a cover of “No Cigar” by Millencolin that garnered the attention of skateboard legend Tony Hawk. Over the past year, Adam has extensively toured throughout the UK including sharing the bill with the likes of Jake Bugg, Jacob Banks, and Jade Bird.
He has also seen an accelerated introduction into the festival circuit, playing Reading & Leeds, The Great Escape, Latitude, Festival #6 and Reeperbahn to name a few. This immediate recognition from the serious bills goes hand-in-hand with Adam being amongst a selective community of artists that count Burberry Music as fans. After spending the last year honing his sound in the studio with producer Rich Cooper (Mystery Jets), Adam’s first full-length release is one that should continue the intrigue around this thrilling, emerging young artist in 2019.
