The song “Better The Devil You Know” was originally released in 1990 by Kylie Minogue.

by Christopher Smith

“Better The Devil You Know” was written and produced by the hit making team of Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman and recorded by Australian singer Kylie Minogue. It was released in May 1990 and peaked at No.2 in the UK and No.4 in Australia and is regarded as one of her greatest recordings.

In 1999, British group Steps, who were also produced and managed by Pete Waterman, recorded the song as part of a double A sider with “Say You’ll Be Mine”. The song reached No.4 in the UK and No.21 in Australia.

But which is best? The ORIGINAL or Steps’ COVER?
