Fate Under Fire release “La La Love”.
A vulnerable and honest voice, Fate Under Fire grabs your ear quickly with alternative pop vibes. David James created FUF in Sacramento. While always evolving and making no apologies, the sonic landscape has transformed from driving guitars to sweeping synths, touching leads and big drums.
“When I started playing in bands as a drummer, singers always fell through and the projects would always fall apart, so I became what I needed”. David began singing, playing guitar and started the recording studio plunge in high school. Struck with cancer, his mother engraved the drive to “do what you love for a living”. As he took full responsibility for her health, he saw her slipping away all the meanwhile forming what is now Fate Under Fire. After her passing, he scanned one of her paintings for the cover or the EP “What Dreams Are Made Of” as a tribute to her. You might catch FUF talking about alternative cancer treatments and suggesting treatment options with the audience, post show.
Throughout the years, releasing two EP’s (“The Simple Things” and “What Dreams Are Made Of”), multiple tours, cover videos, and self directed music videos, FUF has seen extensive success between winning MTVu’s Freshman Five competition and songs getting picked up left and right for television including the theme song for NBC’s TODAY SHOW and getting best new song with “La La Love” in Music Connection Magazine.
David counts his favourite artists as Imagine Dragons, Sir Sly, OneRepublic, Failure, Foster The People, The 1975, Snow Patrol, The Editors, Glassjaw, U2, Coldplay, Grandson…almost everything! Fate Under Fire are David, Kevin Stefanescu on drums and sampling and Tyler Schmid on guitars and cite their interests as “Music, Recording, Video Production, Aviation, Dogs, Alternative Cancer Therapies, Helping Others and being real!
