Michael Oakley plays the “Queen Of Hearts”
Retro music artist Michael Oakley has released his brand new track, “Queen Of Hearts”, his first new material since the release of his second studio album, “Introspect“, last year. The song is another glorious slice of 80’s infused synth-pop that comes courtesy of those guys at NewRetroWave, already responsible for one of this year’s standout tunes, “In The Night“, from At 1980, with “Queen Of Hearts” set to delight all fans of Michael with the prospect of more new material to come and a third album.
“Introspect” was the follow up to Michael’s debut release, “California”, in 2017 and featured the standout tune, “Left Behind”, with superb Erasure/Depeche Mode-esque references as well as other highlights with “Control”, the ballad “Now I’m Alive” and “Rain”. Scottish born Michael toured the album as well last year in between remixing tracks for Missing Words and CJ Burnett! Michael’s love of all things 80’s stems from ‘raiding’ his sister’s collection of New Order, Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys albums as a teenager in the 1990’s.
