FIAA releases “One Day”
Rising British singer FIAA releases the follow up to her debut single, “Name In Lights”, today. “One Day” is a gorgeous, soulful piano ballad with a chorus of children that showcases FIAA’s sweet vocals against a simple orchestral background of piano, cymbals and a few strings. Proceeds from the single are being split across the charities Children In Need, Action For Children UK, Barnardo’s and PWSA UK.
The song was written with the help of multiple talented songwriters, including the Rag N Bone Man, which highlights how far FIAA has come since she made her name through the BBC talent show Little Mix: The Search, where FIAA made it to the final eight. FIAA wrote “One Day” via video chat sessions until they could come together to record the song at Dean Street Studios. The track was initially inspired by a fall-out that FIAA had with her best friend that she grew up with in foster care.
She realised that the connection and shared experiences she had with that friend meant they had a bond like no other-like family. Exploring this theme further, FIAA identified this was a shared experience for all children who grew up in care, and altered the lyrics to be inclusive of them. She hopes the track reflects this sentiment, and that after a tough year for all, people can relate to the idea that ‘one day’ it will all be okay.
