London based singer Bonze enters 2021 with his sexy, sometimes haunting, new single, “Jenny (Can You Hear Me?)”, having launched himself fully in 2020 with three tracks to his name already.
“Jenny” is a ‘quiet’, understated, cool electro pop number, an unapologetic love song, with minimalistic beats and sounds and Bonze’s simple, begging words and vocals.
Inspired by Talking Heads and Kurt Cobain, Bonze has had songs played on BBC Introducing London & Southwest. His debut single, “Heroin(e)”, has been remixed by US producer Draper, a man with tens of millions of streams to his name and has remixed songs for Rita Ora! Bonze has also tailor-written music for the 2019 men’s fashion week runway show at London College of Fashion.
Bonze tells us that “Jenny (Can You Hear Me?)” was written in a shed in Winter! “The song is about the beginnings of a relationship with a girl called Jenny, it’s about how emotionally up and down I can be and about how I felt that I was fully ready to commit to the relationship and just hoped that she was ready too”. We hope she appreciates it! Bonze is working on his first album, scheduled to be completed in 2022, so look out for more from this aspiring bright young thing.
