Evergreen and ever ready musical group Kool and The Gang have been knocking out the feelgood hits for nearly sixty years now, even though they are best associated with the 1970’s and early 80’s with a string of global chart smashes from “Jungle Boogie” in 1973 to “Cherish” in 1985.
With worldwide sales of over 70 million records, the group, who still count among their number original members Rob Bell and George Brown, have undergone many line up changes over the decades, always breathing new life into the setup as well as new music. Their latest single, “Let’s Party”, has just been launched and follows seamlessly on from their 2021 studio album, “Perfect Union”.
Rob ‘Kool’ Bell ended the 70’s with “Ladies Night” and opened the 80’s with “Celebration“, while 1981 served up “Get Down On It” (US No.10, UK No.3). The hits kept coming with “Joanna” in 1983 and “Cherish” (US No.2, UK No.4) in 1985. “Let’s Party” features a street party vibe for its video, much the same as this enduring collective have been serving up for the past five decades.
