Norwegian pop sensation Dagny is back with her first new music of 2023 with the amazing and instantly sing-able track, “Heartbreak In The Making”, ushering in a new era for the Tromsø born musician.
The track follows on from her ‘comeback’ in 2022 with “Highs & Lows” and is the first taste of the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2020 debut album “Strangers/Lovers“.
The single coincides with the announcement of her biggest headline show to date at Oslo’s 10,000 capacity Spektrum Arena (tickets on sale now), and arrives ahead of her main stage slot at this year’s Mighty Hoopla Festival on Sunday 4th June alongside Years & Years, Jake Shears, Róisín Murphy and Confidence Man.
Highlighting her reckless streak, by her own admission, “Heartbreak In The Making” – co-written with Oliver Lundström (Carly Rae Jepsen) and Maria Hazell (Mabel, ALMA), is a slice of indie-pop perfection hinting at reference points such as The Cardigans, Alanis Morissette and Haim.
Dagny Norvoll Sandvik is an irrepressible pop force. To date, her music has been streamed over a billion times, she’s been nominated for six Norwegian Grammy’s (Spellemannprisen), co-written songs for Katy Perry, Ashnikko and Julie Bergan, and collaborated with acts including Liverpool indie-rock heroes The Wombats, American super-producer Steve Aoki, fellow Norwegian powerhouses Kygo, Astrid S and Seeb, and Spanish-English indie-pop outfit Crystal Fighters.
Her debut album “Strangers/Lovers” proved her credentials, spawning the hit single “Somebody” with over 80 million streams on Spotify alone. 2022 saw Dagny embark on a sold-out Norwegian tour that lasted for over two months, selling over 16,000 tickets in the process, followed by 3 sold out headline shows in London, Berlin and Amsterdam, amidst a busy summer of Norway festivals – most notably a prestigious slot on the main stage at Norway’s biggest summer festival Øyafestivalen.
