The Vivienne covered it, Dannii Minogue sampled it, but Dead Or Alive did the original. Yes, “You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)” is back, this time in the hands of former Eurovision winner, Netta.

The song, first produced by Stock Aitken Waterman, was released in late 1984 but it took until February 1985 to top the charts and has been held as a beacon of 80’s Pop ever since.

Now international pop genius Netta returns following her Eurovision Song Contest stage to premiere in May 2023 with a full single of the track. Netta and five other iconic past Eurovision acts brought to life “The Liverpool Songbook” in honour of the city of festivities. Netta’s “You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)” adds another unique chapter to an already one-of-a-kind discography that cements her status as one of the world’s most exciting musical talents and out-of-the-box pop masters.

Netta’s version showcases her vocal prowess and pop ingenuity, with spine-tingling gospel harmonies giving way to a pulsing techno instrumental. Netta’s colourful personality shines through on this stirring cover, providing a fresh perspective on a timeless classic.

During her performance at Eurovision 2023, Netta entered from high above the arena on a giant silver bird, dazzling the crowd with her unique stage presence and powerful voice. The entire performance was ablaze and a joyous spectacle reminding Eurovision fans of her win for Israel in 2018 with “Toy“.

In addition to the new song and performance, Netta has also announced her ‘Wonderful and Great’ World tour. She will bring her now-legendary loop wizardry and infectious charisma to several cities in Europe this Summer and to the US in the Autumn.
