Jeffrey Chan travels the full “Distance” this time
Electro-Pop
It was back in 2018 that we first met Jeffrey Chan with his single “Faultline” and it’s been three years since we last caught up with him, but he has a new single out called “Distance”.
The track is another superb slice of Electro-Pop that finds Jeffrey very much relaxed and brimming with confidence this far down the road.
“Distance” is only his second new work of 2023 and follows on from the dark “Surreal”, having spent a busy 2022 recording and releasing his EP “You Only Want Me When I’m Gone”. Jeffrey continues to work and release his music independently and that goes for the remixes of his brilliant Pop banger “Glow” that we last featured on the site in 2020.
Jeffrey says of his new single “On the surface it’s a love song, but part of it is also a song I wrote for my younger self, to keep on pushing through with my music even when others say otherwise.” The video for “Distance” has a Wild West feel about it, filmed in the desert outside is Los Angeles base, the Australian born singer dons appropriate clothing for his new venture into the unknown.
With “Distance”, Jeffrey retains his signature sound with one foot in the retro Synth era and one very firmly in the Electronic now, and he’s now topped one million Spotify streams since he debuted with “Porsche” back in 2017. Jeffrey still does everything himself, and why not when it has worked so well. He counts on his devoted fanbase and followers that also enjoy great Pop sounds, honest lyrics and resistance to being too commercially exploited, though surely, worldwide success is long overdue…
