THEN & NOW: ‘I Wish’ – Stevie Wonder

A new mix of Stevie Wonder’s 1976 chart topper “I Wish” has recently emerged courtesy of Dutch producer Rene van Schoot and featuring fellow Dutch group 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor. The remix is one in a long line for van Schoot, who has previously ‘topped up’ and added to the likes of INXS’ “Never Tear Us Apart“, Berlin‘s “Take My Breath Away” and The Doobie Brothers “Long Train Running“.

2 Brothers On The 4th Floor formed in 1990 and currently number four members who have achieved over a dozen top ten hits in their native land including the 1994 number one hit “Dreams (Will Come Alive)”. After a break from 2002, they reformed in 2016 and now guest on a number of tracks for high-profiled producers like van Schoot.

“I wish” was a number one hit in America for Stevie Wonder in November 1976. The track was taken from his studio album “Songs In The Key Of Life” and also went top five in the UK and The Netherlands.
